Zinedine Zidane is not open to a Premier League job – because he cannot speak English. The legendary Frenchman had been linked with a move to an English club in recent months with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea previously reportedly interested.
But a move to the Premier League appears as far away as ever with the language barrier proving pivotal, according to Mundo Deportivo. It is reported that Zidane cannot speak English and, therefore, has no interest in moving to these shores anytime soon. That limits the 50-year-old to only a handful of top jobs having missed out on the France job in the wake of the World Cup.
Didier Deschamps ended up extending his contract with Les Bleus, putting to bed speculation that Zidane was set to be handed the job. Paris Saint-Germain could be an option but current boss Christophe Galtier’s future at the club is almost definitely tied to their fate in the Champions League this season.
Taking over at Juventus is another potential post Zidane could go ahead with as one of his former clubs, where he spent five years as a player.
