Tuchel OFFICIALLY discusses the possible arrival of £97 million man to Chelsea

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel insists he was happy with the club’s January transfer window despite not completing a deal for Ousmane Dembele The Club did not spend a penny during the mid- season market as they opted to stick with their current squad, despite all the rumours that Tuchel was desperate to add a bit more quality to that attack.

Despite all their talent, despite all the quality that Tuchel has at his disposal, we have not been firing in front of goal this season and the likes of Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Romelu Lukaku have all struggled for goals That led to reports in the media that a move for Dembele was very much on the cards, and on deadline day, news broke that we had opened late talks to try and sign the gifted Frenchman.

However, that was not the case and in the end, Dembele stayed at Barcelona, where he will remain until at least the summer when he will be allowed to depart the club for his next destination

And, while Tuchel admits they did look to see if deals could be done, Tuchel remains content with how the window panned out. Speaking in the pre-match press conference ahead of their FA Cup fourth round clash against Plymouth on Saturday, he was asked the possible signing of Dembele, he said:

“I am satisfied because it was a calm window and to be calm was the best thing. “We were open for things.”

Even though the didnt manage to get the players that they wanted, they still have a world class squad that should win a trophy this season.

Will they go back in for Dembele in the summer? Probably as Tuchel is a massive fan of the Frenchman and believes that he could add something different to his attack
