Malo Gusto Chelsea transfer close but decisions need to be made on Fernandez and five others

Jurgen Klopp may not be happy that Chelsea’s “endless money” has funded six January signings but the signs are that there is more spending to come.

Graham Potter is still targeting a midfielder and a right-back, with reports suggesting Malo Gusto will be the next player to join his Blues revolution. Football.london understands that Chelsea have agreed personal terms with young Lyon full-back who “only wants to go to Chelsea”.

The 19-year-old is among seven potential signings you can have your say on via our new Swerve or Swoop tool. Gusto’s arrival would likely end Chelsea’s interest in Matty Cash, leaving them free to focus on midfield reinforcements.

But who should they concentrate their efforts on? An initial bid for Brighton’s Moises Caceido failed, while the £106million release clause for Enzo Fernandez looks beyond even Chelsea’s means. Is it time to move on?

And with a summer bidding war likely for Jude Bellingham would the Blues be better off keeping their powder dry for more important battles ahead anyway? Red Bull Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol is another potential summer target, while Marcus Thuram’s free agent status makes the Borussia Mönchengladbach forward an attractive option.

Thuram is sure to have his fair share of suitors, however, and may be best swerved. Or, should Chelsea really fuel Klopp’s fury by swooping for them all? Let us know above and in the comments section.
